Benedictine monastery, San Pietro in Valle, Ferentillo (Umbria)

Duke Faroaldo II of Spoleto constructed the church dedicated to St. Peter with its monastery, which adopted the Benedictine rule. The church was partly destroyed in the 9th century, then reconstructed from the end of the tenth century. Other works of restoration to the buildings and the frescoes in the nave presumably date back to the twelfth century.
